Fabricare was a new entrant in the crowded laundry and dry cleaning segment with a clear objective: To get noticed on a small budget. The USP to be communicated: Fabricare is a laundry that really cares for clothes-unlike the competition.A run-of-the-mill ad campaign showing spotlessly clean clothes was out of the question. So the agency came up with a controversial approach comparing the cleaning of clothes by the competition as abuse. In a country where you can’t do a Coke Vs Pepsi, the campaign only hinted at the culprits, but that was enough to bring the competition on the defensive. Three ads showing abuse, humiliation and cruelty were created in the style of a human rights awareness campaign. Readers were encouraged to stop this daily violation by entrusting clothes to Fabricare.
