Post-production house POD LDN has spiced up a series of idents for Vitality featuring its adorable sausage dog mascot, Stanley, ahead of the main sporting events this summer. POD LDN was tasked with doing full post-production on the campaign, including editing and creating 3D lettering and visual effects. It worked with VCCP’s content creation studio Girl&Bear, production company Ember Films and sound design studio Jungle on the campaign. The idents will go live on July 4 and run online and on TV. They will appear in between Wimbledon broadcasts on Sky and VOD, and cricket and golf broadcasts on Sky and VOD across the summer, with two versions set to play during the Olympic broadcast. The work was created to remind viewers of Vitality’s presence and reliability in a memorable, humorous and engaging way, leveraging the short duration to make a quick, impactful impression. In total, the tactical campaign consists of 12 5” clips, two 10” clips and four 15” spots, featuring Stanley commenting on what is happening in the broadcast or showcasing his own sporting skills. Across all the projects, the 3D workflow includes texturing and lighting on the 3D letters. For the Wimbledon idents, these include “Deuce” and “Out,” while for the Olympics, Stanley tries to set a world record despite his little legs, and lands in front of the words “Long Jump.” In the second Olympics ident, he makes a playful pun before trotting in front of the word “Equestrian.” Adrienn Major, Founder at POD LDN, said: “It was a special pleasure working with my former colleagues at Girl & Bear on this campaign, and making the idents engaging and memorable for viewers during these key summer sporting events. Plus, we love sausage dogs!”
