Ranked last year as the world’s eighth most valuable football club, Liverpool boasts a global fanbase of around 700 million. This charming film created by TBWA Singapore and directed by Rollo Jackson, focuses on just one of them – a young girl growing up in Liverpool devoted to The Reds. Produced by Sixtoes, the film, A Liverpool Story, follows the highs, lows, and general sense of community fostered by footie team allegiance. It takes a nice twist on the lad-centric culture of the game by opening with the girl about to perform a ballet on stage, waiting in the wings, lined up with other dancers in a football tunnel-like space. The spot features local Liverpudlians and city landmarks including the Anfield stadium. It’s set to LFC’s famous anthem You'll Never Walk Alone, recorded by music producer and singer Astraea. Proceeds from the song’s Spotify streaming will go to Standard Chartered’s charity Futuremakers. The tagline refers to the #StandRed movement, a call to unite global LFC fans in support of the Club that was launched by the bank in 2018.
