I watched more than a dozen salmon bounce off of this bear's face before one finally landed squarely in its mouth. The run in the Bristol Bay region of late has been record breaking. Over 66.1 million sockeye returned to spawn in 2021, and another record is predicted for 2022. The abundance has been attributed to warmer winters in the region, which have increased the food supply for sockeye during their first years of life in freshwater. #Katmai #Alaska #bear #fishing
