The UK is perceived as a rainy, water-rich nation however in reality the country risks facing water shortages in as little as 25 years if action is not taken.Former Olympic swimmer Mark Foster and wildlife presenter Michaela Strachan have completed a wild swim in support of a campaign by charity World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and Finish. The campaign is devised to highlight how much water could be saved if people change their water habits at home. With over half of the UK’s domestic water supply coming from freshwater rivers, the campaign is calling on people to make the connection between source and sink and make three water saving changes at home to help protect resources for the future. Simple changes can include:Turn off tap (saves 6 litres per minute)Dishwasher vs handwashing (saves up to 6,800 litres a year)Bucket vs hose to wash car (saves 220 litres per car)
