It’s like our little secret," says Alexis.When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico in 2017, it decimated many parts of the island and wiped out 80% of the coffee industry. In the aftermath, Alexis returned to the island with other Starbucks volunteers to help plant coffee trees of as part of the recovery efforts.“It was just honestly a super emotional way to give back to the island," he says.
