案例简介：Write a short summary of what happens in the film When your time comes, you have two choices. You can be the kid no one's heard of. Or you can be the kid no one saw coming. This is Made Defiant: The Mixtape. On the eve of the 2018 football tournament, we meet Andrei, a slight 13-year-old kid growing up in the slums of Moscow. After a lifetime of being bullied, Andrei decides he’s finally had enough. He provokes a fight with the toughest guys in the neighborhood, summoning the same defiant attitude as the world’s best athletes as they head to Russia. Using the idea of a mixtape as a storytelling device, we delve into the backstories on Harry Kane, Mesut Ozil, Benjamin Mendy and Neymar Jr, to show how defiance brought them each to the world’s stage -- and how, in moments of quiet doubt, it’s only through music they’re able to summon that trademark steely attitude. Cultural/Context information for the jury The music for each track of the mixtape was carefully crafted, taking into consideration the athlete's home country's musical styles as well as their cultural backgrounds. The German track referenced German, Turkish, and Muslim sounds in celebration of Ozil, while the England track reflected what you’d hear walking around Walthamstow, Kane’s boyhood home. Throughout the film, you’ll also notice hyper-real, over-saturated titles announcing each athlete. This is a nod to the history of the visual language of hip-hop mixtapes in America, back when artists would create vivid, often rather exaggerated mixtape cover art to grab their audience’s attention. You’ll also notice the film is shot in many formats, from digital to 35mm film to Super 8, also a nod to old school mixtapes, which were often a DIY patchwork of sonic textures from songs, movies, TV, street noise... anything the creators could get their hands on. A composed loop of Anderson Paak’s Bubblin’ plays. Downstairs, Andrei kicks the ball at a makeshift goal. Misses by a mile. A bully and his crew, drinking in the lot nearby, jeer at him. Andrei gets frustrated, makes some adjustments, shoots again. Misses again. Bully laughs. Andrei steels himself. Exhales sharply. It really all came down to a moment. He looks over at the bully whose back is turned. He sets up and rears back. The moment you turned obstacle... into opportunity. The ball knocks the drink out of the bully’s hands. Frame freezes. This story is all about that. Frame unfreezes. The bully’s face is covered in drink. As he starts to yell, Andrei smirks and turns to run. We transition sharply to a new story. We see photos that emphasize Harry’s everymanness -- his golf clubs, his darts trophy. One of his dogs jumps on the bed wearing a Brady shirt. Four years ago, both Harry’s watched the Big Show from their sofa. Cut to normal Harry. England scores. They go ape shit. Difference is, this Harry said [Normal Harry speaks to camera: “I could not do that.”] And this Harry [back to Harry Kane] went, “I am ‘avin’ some of that!” Harry Kane went from couch to captain in just four years. Who knew? He knew. Stylized shot of HK looking into camera as he walks the tunnel in Moscow. Camera lands on Ozil packing bags, S3 on his neck. Packing song plays [TBD]. TRACK 2 - GERMANY Now the tale of modern football can’t be told without this Turkish kid. Ozil presses the side of the S3 twice, changes the song to a hip hop track with Turkish instruments. I mean German kid. I mean Turkish German kid. I mean German Turkish Muslim kid. Name’s Mesut Ozil. [Track changes to German Turkish hip hop.] His beginnings were modest. And yeah, his boots were held together with tape. Ozil as a cartoon character, putting on his boots and powering up in defiance. But it pushed him forward. Into becoming the greatest passing midfielder of his generation. Mesut makes his way down the line of family members. He kisses each on the cheek twice as he leaves for Russia. Now he’s heading to Moscow to do what no other German, Turk, or Muslim for that matter, has ever done: win two in a row. As he closes the door behind him, he turns up a song via remote talk. Track gets louder. Narrator has to shout over it. Can he do it again? Well let’s ask her. Cut to Serena Williams. She’s sitting in the back of an old school Paris brasserie like French mafia. She scoffs, “That’s it? Just two in a row?” INTERLUDE Thierry Henri walks sultrily down a spiral staircase. He’s dressed in an impeccable suit. Thierry Henri: Bonjour. [subtitle: Hello] You probably have been wondering, “Thierry. What is a mixtape?” Well, it’s a collection of songs that convey a message. The only rule is, there are no rules. Back to the narrator. Thank you, Thierry. TRACK 3 - FRANCE Camera pans past a pool. We see a shape moving cartoonishly fast underwater. Remember the name. Benjamin Mendy. Mendy pops up. AKA the Shark. We hear a blood curdling scream. Camera pushes in and he smiles… ting! Now the defender ain’t always been sexy. But this shark patrols French waters with a vengeance. He gets out of the pool amidst a pool party. Struggles? You could say that. Flashes of car wreck that derailed his football career as a kid. But despite all the man’s been through, he’s still on a mission. A mission to make the defender sexy again. Mendy struts towards camera past paparazzi, full sexy mode, on his way to Moscow with Studios around his neck. Whip-pan to Evra. He’s barbecuing at Mendy’s pool party wearing an apron that says ‘Evra AF.’ He says, “Come on guys. I made it sexy ten years ago. I love this game! Hahahaha.” As soon as he says his trademark line, we whip pan back out to Paris. TRACK 4 - PARIS Festive sounds blend into the atmosphere. Neymar’s having a gathering. This is Paris. Exterior shot of a grand palais. Neymar waves us in from the window, as if the camera is a passerby. But when you’re in the same room as Neymar Da Silva Santos Jr… Camera freezes on Neymar, S3 around his neck, playing cards. You’re always in Brazil. Unfreeze. Neymar wins. He gathers up the cards, laughing. Four years ago, fate dealt him a bad hand. Instagram footage telling the story of Neymar’s last world cup injury. But from that bad hand, he drew his greatest weapon. Faith. Quick cuts reveal him in rehab, cast removal, getting back into the gym, Studios powering hs recovery. On ‘faith,’ a heavenly light shines upon him, reflecting his renewed resolve. Now. Where’d he get his attitude from? Well, he was inspired by him. [Instagram footage of Neymar & his hero Robinho] And he…. continues to inspire him. [Instagram footage of Gabriel Jesus and his hero Neymar] And they, in turn, all inspire him. [We cut back to Andrei about to run from the bully.] Remember him? His name is Andrei. And he’s the future of Russia. [Stylized subtitle: ANDREI] Though he doesn’t quite know it yet. Andrei unfreezes. He changes the track via remote talk on his Powerbeats Wireless 3. The real version of BUBBLIN’ takes off. Initiate chase sequence. Andrei runs from the bully, using the pursuit as pressure. We see his agility as he dodges obstacles of Moscow street life. As he runs, the bully gets more and more boys to join the fray. Andrei turns around, sees how big the crew is, and panics. He ducks into a corner breathing hard, self-doubt apparent. Music stops. We feel Andrei’s fear. He looks up at his apartment from afar and sees his mom through the window, shuffling about and singing to herself. Singing becomes score. The tune is Enya’s Bodicea. We then cycle through all athletes, also in quiet moments of contemplation, self-doubt. Using their S3 to remind them who they are and what they must do. Including surprise cameos from athletes we haven’t seen yet: De Gea, Hazard, Smolov. You ever look up at your life and go… how did I get here? One by one, the athletes look up, product on, steely eyed. This is how. We cut back to Andrei. Anderson Paak’s voice from the track drops back in and yells “GO!” Cut back through all the athletes. It feels like they’re listening the same song on their S3, powerfully striding towards the pitch, punching the air, taking off their jackets, nodding their heads. Andrei turns a corner. Camera and bullies lose him for a second. Then we hear a loud whistle. Camera whips around and finds him standing on the same pitch we started in, ball under his arm. The bully and his crew gather between him and the goal like a wall. Andrei smirks. Track gets dramatic. He drops the ball, rears back, exhales sharply as he did in the beginning of the spot. The ball sails over the bullies heads. It hits the back of the net. Andrei slowly turns and walks away, new swagger in his step. Titles pound onscreen. Made Defiant. [Beats logo]

Made Defiant: The Mixtape
案例简介：Write a short summary of what happens in the film When your time comes, you have two choices. You can be the kid no one's heard of. Or you can be the kid no one saw coming. This is Made Defiant: The Mixtape. On the eve of the 2018 football tournament, we meet Andrei, a slight 13-year-old kid growing up in the slums of Moscow. After a lifetime of being bullied, Andrei decides he’s finally had enough. He provokes a fight with the toughest guys in the neighborhood, summoning the same defiant attitude as the world’s best athletes as they head to Russia. Using the idea of a mixtape as a storytelling device, we delve into the backstories on Harry Kane, Mesut Ozil, Benjamin Mendy and Neymar Jr, to show how defiance brought them each to the world’s stage -- and how, in moments of quiet doubt, it’s only through music they’re able to summon that trademark steely attitude. Cultural/Context information for the jury The music for each track of the mixtape was carefully crafted, taking into consideration the athlete's home country's musical styles as well as their cultural backgrounds. The German track referenced German, Turkish, and Muslim sounds in celebration of Ozil, while the England track reflected what you’d hear walking around Walthamstow, Kane’s boyhood home. Throughout the film, you’ll also notice hyper-real, over-saturated titles announcing each athlete. This is a nod to the history of the visual language of hip-hop mixtapes in America, back when artists would create vivid, often rather exaggerated mixtape cover art to grab their audience’s attention. You’ll also notice the film is shot in many formats, from digital to 35mm film to Super 8, also a nod to old school mixtapes, which were often a DIY patchwork of sonic textures from songs, movies, TV, street noise... anything the creators could get their hands on. Provide the full film script in English. Narrator: You ever step back, take a look at your life and go... how did I get here? A boy named Andrei is in his council flat in Moscow. His mom is cooking in the next room, humming a familiar tune. Andrei grabs PBW3 and a football, kisses his mom and goes to courtyard, pressing play via remote talk. A composed loop of Anderson Paak’s Bubblin’ plays. Downstairs, Andrei kicks the ball at a makeshift goal. Misses by a mile. A bully and his crew, drinking in the lot nearby, jeer at him. Andrei gets frustrated, makes some adjustments, shoots again. Misses again. Bully laughs. Andrei steels himself. Exhales sharply. It really all came down to a moment. He looks over at the bully whose back is turned. He sets up and rears back. The moment you turned obstacle... into opportunity. The ball knocks the drink out of the bully’s hands. Frame freezes. This story is all about that. Frame unfreezes. The bully’s face is covered in drink. As he starts to yell, Andrei smirks and turns to run. We transition sharply to a new story. Musical mnemonic to transition from Bubblin’ instrumental to Lethal Bizzle. TRACK 1 - ENGLAND Look at this guy. Cut to North London, where an average looking fellow walks down a street, S3 on, rapping Lethal Bizzle’s “Fester Skank” to the camera. This is Harry. [Stylized subtitle: “Harry”] He’s from Walthamstowe. Loves football, loves his family, loves his dogs. Harry gets to his mate’s house. “Oi oi!” They’re sitting on the sofa watching England play. Cut to Harry Kane at his house, packing for Moscow. This too is Harry. Stylized subtitle: “HARRY.” Also from Walthamstowe. Also loves football, also loves his family… you get the picture. We see photos that emphasize Harry’s everymanness -- his golf clubs, his darts trophy. One of his dogs jumps on the bed wearing a Brady shirt. Four years ago, both Harry’s watched the Big Show from their sofa. Cut to normal Harry. England scores. They go ape shit. Difference is, this Harry said [Normal Harry speaks to camera: “I could not do that.”] And this Harry [back to Harry Kane] went, “I am ‘avin’ some of that!” Harry Kane went from couch to captain in just four years. Who knew? He knew. Stylized shot of HK looking into camera as he walks the tunnel in Moscow. Camera lands on Ozil packing bags, S3 on his neck. Packing song plays [TBD]. TRACK 2 - GERMANY Now the tale of modern football can’t be told without this Turkish kid. Ozil presses the side of the S3 twice, changes the song to a hip hop track with Turkish instruments. I mean German kid. I mean Turkish German kid. I mean German Turkish Muslim kid. Name’s Mesut Ozil. [Track changes to German Turkish hip hop.] His beginnings were modest. And yeah, his boots were held together with tape. Ozil as a cartoon character, putting on his boots and powering up in defiance. But it pushed him forward. Into becoming the greatest passing midfielder of his generation. Mesut makes his way down the line of family members. He kisses each on the cheek twice as he leaves for Russia. Now he’s heading to Moscow to do what no other German, Turk, or Muslim for that matter, has ever done: win two in a row. As he closes the door behind him, he turns up a song via remote talk. Track gets louder. Narrator has to shout over it. Can he do it again? Well let’s ask her. Cut to Serena Williams. She’s sitting in the back of an old school Paris brasserie like French mafia. She scoffs, “That’s it? Just two in a row?” INTERLUDE Thierry Henri walks sultrily down a spiral staircase. He’s dressed in an impeccable suit. Thierry Henri: Bonjour. [subtitle: Hello] You probably have been wondering, “Thierry. What is a mixtape?” Well, it’s a collection of songs that convey a message. The only rule is, there are no rules. Back to the narrator. Thank you, Thierry. TRACK 3 - FRANCE Camera pans past a pool. We see a shape moving cartoonishly fast underwater. Remember the name. Benjamin Mendy. Mendy pops up. AKA the Shark. We hear a blood curdling scream. Camera pushes in and he smiles… ting! Now the defender ain’t always been sexy. But this shark patrols French waters with a vengeance. He gets out of the pool amidst a pool party. Struggles? You could say that. Flashes of car wreck that derailed his football career as a kid. But despite all the man’s been through, he’s still on a mission. A mission to make the defender sexy again. Mendy struts towards camera past paparazzi, full sexy mode, on his way to Moscow with Studios around his neck. Whip-pan to Evra. He’s barbecuing at Mendy’s pool party wearing an apron that says ‘Evra AF.’ He says, “Come on guys. I made it sexy ten years ago. I love this game! Hahahaha.” As soon as he says his trademark line, we whip pan back out to Paris. TRACK 4 - PARIS Festive sounds blend into the atmosphere. Neymar’s having a gathering. This is Paris. Exterior shot of a grand palais. Neymar waves us in from the window, as if the camera is a passerby. But when you’re in the same room as Neymar Da Silva Santos Jr… Camera freezes on Neymar, S3 around his neck, playing cards. You’re always in Brazil. Unfreeze. Neymar wins. He gathers up the cards, laughing. Four years ago, fate dealt him a bad hand. Instagram footage telling the story of Neymar’s last world cup injury. But from that bad hand, he drew his greatest weapon. Faith. Quick cuts reveal him in rehab, cast removal, getting back into the gym, Studios powering hs recovery. On ‘faith,’ a heavenly light shines upon him, reflecting his renewed resolve. Now. Where’d he get his attitude from? Well, he was inspired by him. [Instagram footage of Neymar & his hero Robinho] And he…. continues to inspire him. [Instagram footage of Gabriel Jesus and his hero Neymar] And they, in turn, all inspire him. [We cut back to Andrei about to run from the bully.] Remember him? His name is Andrei. And he’s the future of Russia. [Stylized subtitle: ANDREI] Though he doesn’t quite know it yet. Andrei unfreezes. He changes the track via remote talk on his Powerbeats Wireless 3. The real version of BUBBLIN’ takes off. Initiate chase sequence. Andrei runs from the bully, using the pursuit as pressure. We see his agility as he dodges obstacles of Moscow street life. As he runs, the bully gets more and more boys to join the fray. Andrei turns around, sees how big the crew is, and panics. He ducks into a corner breathing hard, self-doubt apparent. Music stops. We feel Andrei’s fear. He looks up at his apartment from afar and sees his mom through the window, shuffling about and singing to herself. Singing becomes score. The tune is Enya’s Bodicea. We then cycle through all athletes, also in quiet moments of contemplation, self-doubt. Using their S3 to remind them who they are and what they must do. Including surprise cameos from athletes we haven’t seen yet: De Gea, Hazard, Smolov. You ever look up at your life and go… how did I get here? One by one, the athletes look up, product on, steely eyed. This is how. We cut back to Andrei. Anderson Paak’s voice from the track drops back in and yells “GO!” Cut back through all the athletes. It feels like they’re listening the same song on their S3, powerfully striding towards the pitch, punching the air, taking off their jackets, nodding their heads. Andrei turns a corner. Camera and bullies lose him for a second. Then we hear a loud whistle. Camera whips around and finds him standing on the same pitch we started in, ball under his arm. The bully and his crew gather between him and the goal like a wall. Andrei smirks. Track gets dramatic. He drops the ball, rears back, exhales sharply as he did in the beginning of the spot. The ball sails over the bullies heads. It hits the back of the net. Andrei slowly turns and walks away, new swagger in his step. Titles pound onscreen. Made Defiant. [Beats logo]
