案例简介：“I am passionate about living my life on my terms and creating art that inspires positive change,” says Los Angeles-based Delfin Finley (@delfin). The artist paints hyper-realistic representational portraits of his peers that symbolize the Black experience and address issues of systemic oppression and racial injustice.“At this point in my journey, my art celebrates painting people of color in ways that were missing from museums and galleries when I was growing up. I paint to highlight the beauty and strength of each subject, capturing images that give the viewer a perspective of the challenges of living in America.My work honors the pain, struggle and bravery Black people have experienced to overcome the violence and brutality of our past. It focuses on how that history still affects us and how we carry it with us, whether we want to or not. The weight of our past cannot be shaken off or set aside.There is tremendous empowerment in sharing our stories and stepping out from the shadows of being a voiceless victim.
