A lookout spot can be chosen with both relaxation and strategy in mind—as demonstrated by this male leopard in Botswana’s Chobe National Park. The predator had positioned himself perfectly for a clear view of an elephant crossing over the free-flowing Chobe River. With a little patience, luck, and careful surveillance, an unsuspecting bush buck might perhaps be spotted where the riverside vegetation had been trampled and opened up by the passing giants.
