To move to the next levels players had to use all their Photoshop skills to unravel the mystery. Or learn new ones, including 3D modeling and ActionScripting. They collaborated on Facebook, sharing tips, tricks, and even their original artwork as they pieced together clues, and unlocked new parts of the story.From the start consumers we’re drawn in with our innovative use of product, and compelling creative – and this certainly got our user base excited for our theatrical Facebook Live event, launched towards the end of the campaign. Fans had to ‘flock to unlock’ to release further clues whilst having the opportunity to engage with the Mad King! Strategy Photoshop users demand high quality creative and Photoshop’s ‘There’s Magic Inside’ campaign was no exception. To drive deeper engagement, and retain more users, we created a unique digital experience to take advantage of our strong social following, using Facebook (7m+) as our primary storytelling channel, but utilizing Twitter (2.5m+), and Instagram (750k) to support the overall campaign. We developed compelling platform specific content to drive engagement, both in game and on social, with a goal to foster more brand affinity with our existing community. Social content was amplified with paid media to ensure our messaging reached more people with every post. Outcome In the end, over 5,000 players discovered the mystery of a kingdom divided by a king gone mad. The campaign resulted in over 800k engagements, 25 million impressions, and over 2 million views of our teaser video and Facebook Live performance. But most importantly, Photoshop magic became core skills that our players could now use every day. Thousands of Photoshop manipulators became Photoshop magicians. Photoshop. There’s magic inside. CampaignDescription Millions of images are created every day with Photoshop. Users tweak, toggle, transform, and even transmogrify. Spare tires become six packs. Six packs become ten packs. Moments become memes. But Photoshop is so much more than manipulation. You can create almost anything. From art to animation, it’s practically magic. So how do you unlock the power of Photoshop. How do you unleash the creative potential in our users? How do you turn Photoshop manipulators into Photoshop Magicians? We created a game INSIDE PHOTOSHOP. Seven custom illustration images from artist Matteo Basini. Over a thousand layers of interactivity. And one incredible story of a magical kingdom filled with riddles, puzzles, and mystery were unleased through social media to our dedicated Photoshop users. Synopsis Adobe challenged us to drive deeper Photoshop engagement to help support a wider business goal of increasing and retaining creative cloud subscribers. We believe that people who are more highly skilled in a creative product’s advanced functionality, are more likely to continue subscribing because of their ever-growing ability to bring their creative visions to life. To meet our objective, of driving deeper engagement and retaining existing consumer relationships, we created a highly visual and stimulating in-product Photoshop game, and encouraged users to interact beyond their standard way of communicating with brands. This campaign was produced within a budget of $150,000.
