One Cheetah Conservation Fund veterinarian at a time serves as the primary caretaker for very young cubs, even sleeping next to them. The organization houses and cares for Somaliland’s confiscated cheetahs—nearly 60 as of mid-2021. Our story “Cheetahs for Sale” goes inside the trafficking network helping drain Africa of its cheetah cubs—and the efforts by Somalilanders to stop the illegal trade—out now in the September issue of the magazine.
