Photo by Daniella Zalcman @dzalcman / Nearly a year ago, I began the first of multiple lockdowns at my parents' home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Zoom was still a novelty, and I remember friends and family speculating that the world would return to normal by summer. As Passover approached, I wanted to see how Jewish people would celebrate a holiday that's fundamentally rooted in boisterous communal gatherings with shared food, drink, and lots of singing. I dialed in to as many seders as I could—from London to Johannesburg to San Diego to Buenos Aires—hosted by friends, family, or complete strangers. Here, rabbinical student Edy Huberman leads his family seder in Buenos Aires, Argentina, as my dad prepares our own family seder in the background. Thank you to @insidenatgeo for the support!Check out Nat Geo's link in bio for more on this story.
